Tales from the fell, road, trail and ultra scene. Monday, 27 July 2015. Partly due to injury and partly due to my complete lack of interest in running of late. Over two months ago I injured my back. I did the session and the stiffness was worse afterwards. I ran the day after but ended up almost limping. I gave myself a deadline.

Wednesday, 12 August 2015. The weather continues to be very changeable, sunny then a rain shower, but the predominant feature has been the wind! I was determined to continue my running on Monday whilst Mrs Ian B went to Yoga, so 5.

Some of the reasons the Pennines worked so perfectly for the textile industry still go together well. A fast three mile run up the pike, followed by a glorious swim looking back at the race route. 26 - Darwen, Lancashire - Fell Runner. Tuesday, 3 January 2017. Nine Standards fell race - 2017. A unique set up on the summit of Hartley fell near the boundary between Cumbria and North Yorkshire, just a few miles from Kirkby Stephen, which is where the race starts from. The race is always on New Years Day and from my own knowledge, has always been the same 8 mile course.

The clocks go back, the light begins to fade and the weather is inevitably on the turn. Summer is nothing but a distant memory and it becomes increasingly harder to find any kind of motivation to train.
